2025 Information

Chicago Birdie Club: A golf and social club created to get city-locked golfers out on the links and at exclusive events with minimal commitment. Member experience is elevated through curated competition and camaraderie, embodying our motto “A Club Up”

Last Season’s Mission: To build on the CBC’s foundation as a club whose members can golf competitively and network for years to come through improvement of our format, events, discord, and overall member experience. Also to establish some traditions.  COMPLETE

This Season’s Mission: To refine all aspects of golf competition and member experience by operating on chicagobirdieclub.com – a single site where members can easily navigate pairings, directories, handicaps, score submission, leaderboards, and more with improved management capabilities like scheduling, notifications, events, and merchandising.

Format: 6 rounds – 3 regular season and 3 tournament

Beginning April 1st, players will be paired with a foursome (depending on their pairings preference) to coordinate and complete a regular season round at a time and location the group agrees upon. This process will be repeated on the first day of each regular season round.

The Group’s round can be played at anytime, at any par-69+ course within each block of the season schedule:

•   Round 1: 4/15 – 6/30 + CBC Kickoff 4/17
•   Southside Scramble:  6/14 @ Ravisloe + Bandit
•   Round 2: 7/1 – 9/30 + Cubs Game on 6/21
•   Midseason Match: 7/27 @ Cog Hill + Sully’s
•   CBC Championship: 9/27 @ Harborside + awards & social

Players will cover their own green fees at whatever course the group agrees upon playing each regular season round as well as tournaments. Distribution of dues are briefly broken down below and will be fully detailed in the 2025 CBC Handbook.

chicagobirdieclub.com: Will replace Discord as the hub for all information, announcements, leaderboards, event rsvp, and merchandise while adding several channels for other member contributions and incentives.

Points & Scoring: Slightly revised with more intuitive names

•   “Match Points” are awarded each round for match wins and weighted progressively throughout the season. They are a measure of a players match-play ability and gamesmanship.
•  “Rank Points” are similar to FedEx Cup points and awarded each round based on a players overall standing in net score – a testament to their scoring and consistency throughout the season.
•   “Overall Points” are a combination of both systems and what is used to determine the overall standings and Club Champion.

Tracking & Leaderboard: Players will submit scorecard pictures and match winner to the website each round. Scores will then be input and presented on an updated leaderboard with standings and statistics on the website.

Prize Pool & Awards: 100% of collections will be paid out or put towards club costs. We anticipate 64 golfers meaning a $11,520 pool with $2,520 allocated towards club costs and the remaining $10,000 going towards 27 awards (Club Champ, 2nd & 3rd – Match & Rank Points Leaders – Southside Scramble Champs, 2nd, Birdies & Ctth – CBC Championship Low Net, 2nd, Birdies & Ctth2x – Rounds 1-4 Low Nets – Shot, Round, Image, Video, Rookie, Most Improved, Comeback & Birdman OTY) All have equal odds at all awards

Rules & Payment: All that is expected is your commitment to the format, the rules of golf, and a $180 payment for member dues which will be made through stripe as part of the registration process. Reminders will be sent out but if payment cannot be made by April 1st that roster spot will open up for someone on the waitlist.

This payment grants one buy-in to the prize pool, access to events including club socials and awards ceremony, six rounds with real competition (green fees not included), exclusive member content and opportunities, access to chicagobirdieclub.com and its network of golfers, and a CBC-Guaranteed season of fun and suspense in 2025.

Social Events: The club will build upon some of its traditions like Kickoff Happy Hour, The Southside Scramble Postgame, and The Club Championship Awards Party with six planned events during the season. A few optional activities will also likely pop up during the season.

Sponsors: The CBC is currently drawing interest from sponsors and is revamping its pitch deck and brand in order to close on deals by the beginning of the season. (Sponsor) Income cannot exceed 35% of gross receipts permitted from non-members.

Merchandise:  Will be offered exclusively to CBC members through the website and is currently in the sampling and design phase. The goal is to have everything available to be ordered in April.
